Our Story

S.T. Contracts started over two decades ago with a simple idea: do quality building work, communicate clearly, and treat every home like it matters. That approach hasn't changed.

We're based in Watford and work across Hertfordshire, taking on everything from kitchen extensions to full house renovations. Every project is managed in-house by our own team of builders, plumbers, electricians and plasterers.

Most trades handled in-house, with certified specialists for electrical and gas. One team from start to finish.

What areas do you cover?

Do you take on smaller projects?

Yes. While we specialise in extensions, loft conversions and full renovations, we also take on smaller projects like kitchen refits, bathroom renovations, structural alterations and general building work. Get in touch to discuss what you need.

How does your pricing work?

We provide a detailed written quote after a free site visit. The price we agree is fixed, no hidden costs or surprises. We break down exactly what's included so you know where your money goes.

Do you handle planning permission?

Yes. S.T. Contracts manages planning applications and building regulations from start to sign-off. We deal with the council so you don't have to.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. All our trades work in-house as part of the same team. Builders, plumbers, electricians, plasterers and decorators. This means better coordination, clearer communication, and consistent quality.

What guarantees do you offer?

All work comes with a six-month workmanship guarantee. As FMB members, you also have access to their warranty scheme for additional protection. We're fully insured for your peace of mind.

How far in advance should I book?

It depends on the size of the project and our current schedule. For larger projects like extensions and loft conversions, we typically book 4-8 weeks ahead. Smaller jobs can sometimes fit in sooner. Contact us to check availability.
